If you’ve been searching for an affordable horse with a kind personality, eye-catching looks, and plenty of potential, Onyx deserves a look. He came to us needing a little TLC and consistent riding, and he has truly blossomed into a fun, willing partner. While he is still developing with regular miles, he has a wonderful foundation and the type of temperament that makes him enjoyable to work with.
Onyx is easy to catch, enjoys attention, and gets along well with other horses. He’s accustomed to life on a busy ranch and has been exposed to cattle, livestock, tractors, ATVs, farm equipment, and everyday commotion without batting an eye. He’s the kind of horse that’s happy to trail ride around the property, explore new areas, or continue his education in the arena.
He has been ridden both English and Western and has a willing attitude under saddle. We would describe him as safe, sensible, and honest, though he is still green enough that he benefits from a rider who can continue building his confidence and education. He has happily carried our 5-year-old son at a walk under close adult supervision, but we would not advertise him as a beginner or “kid-safe” pony just yet. Instead, we think he would be an excellent fit for an intermediate youth or small adult looking for an enjoyable summer project without starting completely from scratch.
Onyx has all the ingredients to become a fantastic family horse, trail partner, Pony Club mount, or all-around pleasure horse. He’s kind, uncomplicated, and eager to please, and we believe his best days are still ahead of him. With continued riding and consistency, this handsome little gelding is only going to get better.

“Count” is the kind of horse that reminds you why people fall in love with horses in the first place. This 14.1hh registered AQHA gelding was breeder owned and cherished his entire life until coming to us, and it shows in every aspect of who he is. He has been exceptionally well cared for, is barefoot and sound with no maintenance requirements, and truly does not look or act his age. Count has spent his life being a trusted partner around the ranch, teaching riders to ride, introducing many to jumping, and taking care of his people every step of the way. He is the definition of an old soul — kind, patient, and happy to go whatever speed his rider needs. He prefers a softer, looser style of contact and is a forgiving ride who values partnership over precision. Count is wonderful to groom, stands quietly for all handling, and has absolutely no vices. Although he enjoyed some well-earned downtime while the kids he helped raise headed off to college, he has returned to work as though he never missed a day. He can be ridden bareback in a halter, hacks quietly around the property, and still has plenty of life left to give his next family. Horses like Count are incredibly hard to find and even harder to forget.

Zip is the kind of mare that quietly wins people over the moment they sit on her. This 14hh 2006 AQHA mare is thicker than a Snicker and built to carry just about anyone while still being athletic and fun to ride. Like her brother, she was breeder owned and lovingly cared for her entire life until coming to us, and she has remained barefoot, sound, and free of maintenance requirements throughout the years. While she has had some time off as the kids she helped raise grew up and moved on to college, she has returned to work with enthusiasm and a remarkable willingness to jump right back into her job. On the ground, she can occasionally be a little anxious if her brother isn’t nearby, but it is nothing mean or difficult, simply a horse who is out of practice and readjusting to work after years in a familiar home. She improves every day and is proving to be the same sensible mare she has always been. Under saddle, however, she absolutely shines. Zip is a lovely, more English-style ride who understands contact, has quality buttons, and feels like a horse that is ready to go back to work. She would step easily into a Starter level eventing or pony club job tomorrow, and with a little time to rebuild her fitness she could very comfortably progress to Beginner Novice. She still has plenty of pep left in her step, enjoys having a job, and is looking for a rider who wants a safe, fun partner with experience, personality, and many good years still ahead of her.
